Which Funds have ECLIPSE Functionality
Not all funds have ECLIPSE functionality and some might not have all the ECLIPSE features. Features under the ECLIPSE umbrella are:
- Online Eligibility Checks (OECs)
- In-Patient Hospital Claims (IHC) (this gives you the ability to electronically send the invoice to the health fund)
- Electronic Remittance Advice (Hospital) (ERA) (this gives you the ability to receive the payment and exception report back electronically)
Medicare Australia governs which funds are approved and registered for ECLIPSE and updates which funds have which features. Check out the Medicare ECLIPSE status page.
The screenshot above shows that their are a lot of ECLIPSE features, some of these are only applicable to clinics/rooms, not facilities. The features that are of interest to facilities are in the red box.
HBF a popular fund in Western Australia, has ECLIPSE IHC and ERA, meaning you can send your invoice and receive the report of payment via SimDay, but HBF does not have OEC functionality, meaning the eligibility has to be done the old way, either via fax, phone or fund portal.
